DECEMBER 2003 - MEMBERSHIP PROFILE

Perry Mason
working in the kitchen at the Moshannon Community Center during
the Spaghetti Dinner.
Perry
Mason and his family are fairly new to the Clarence area, having
resided in Altoona for 8 years and here since 1997. Yet
in this amount of time they have become very community active
not only with the SSRTA, but also coaching girl’s softball and
boy’s and girl’s basketball. Perry was our past president
for 2001 through 2002 and is now acting treasurer. Perry’s
wife Carrie has chaired the Walker’s Committee and now chairs
the Signage Committee. We had a very nice picture of Carrie
and their daughter Amanda planting flowers at the Clarence Kiosk
in our last newsletter. Amanda attends Mountaintop Elementary
and their son Aaron attends Bald Eagle Area High School.
Perry works for the State College Water Authority and Carrie drives
school bus and van for Jim & Terry’s Reliable Auto.
Between the two of them Perry and Carrie have been the driving
force behind our annual Spaghetti Fund Raising Dinner. They
have participated in the Red Moshannon Canoe Race serving up some
much appreciated food and drinks. Perry is our main liaison
to the Quehanna Boot Camp (see article presenting plaque on the
next page). Due to his energy and drive many projects concerning
the trail’s development and safety have been accomplished.
The Mason’s each enjoy driving their own ATVs and as a family
have shared quality time out on the trail.
Please
obey all signs along the trail. They are for your safety as well
as the safety of fellow trail users. |
