Mike
Houseknecht started Best Line in 1985. He is the President and Owner
of Best Line. Best Line has grown from a rented service station with
lawn and garden equipment to 4 locations and over 8000 rental pieces.
Mike has 8 children and his wife's name is Torie. Mike recently
relocated to the State College area to become more involved in the
accounting end of the business. Mike is also a majority owner in
Aerial Service and Parts, an aerial platform refurbisher in
Shippensburg. Mike H. and Mike Getz were friends when he started in
1985 and Mike G. helped him part-time from 1986 to 1997. In 1997 Mike
H. had 21 employees and no longer needed Mike G.’s part-time help.
Mike G. came back to Best Line in September 2000 full-time leaving PPL
Company to help the business grow. Best Line is presently in three
major cities (State College, Muncy, and Mechanicsburg) with its four
locations and employs 90 people. Mike G. has been married for nearly
15 years to his high school sweetheart Lynn. They have two daughters,
Larissa and Cierra, ages 6 and 19 months. They live in the Muncy
area. He is Chief Operating Officer of Best Line with
responsibilities for the sales, marketing, and all the operational
aspects of the business. He is an avid snowmobile rider, enjoys
ATVing, and has been passionate about the Polaris product and saw the
opportunity to integrate the product line into Best Line. He’s been
associated with Polaris since July 2001. He represents the Polaris
ATV, Snowmobile, Ranger, and Professional Series product lines. They
have 5 Polaris Master Service Designation repair technicians, 2
Polaris full-time parts personnel, and 2 full-time Polaris
salespeople. Best Line appreciates the relationship with SSRTA and
thanks everyone in the club for the machines, parts, and accessory
business that everyone has given Best Line. We hope to get Polaris
Industries further involved with SSRTA and will promote the expansion
of riding in PA and rider safety.
